Abandonment: cease to support or look after (someone); desert.
“A DEFINITION NOT FOUND
IN THE DICTIONARY
Not leaving: an act of trust and love,
often deciphered by children”
― Markus Zusak, The Book Thief
In September 2015, my mom and step dad separated and decided to file for a divorce. On February 28, 2016 the divorce was finalized. This is the second divorce I've been through in a ten year span. My concentration is summed up in one word: abandonment. The amount of people who've left me is almost pathetic. I'm the personification of that phrase: 'everybody leaves'; my concentration is an embodiment of being left behind and alone, as demonstrated in the personification of loneliness in space, and the pain of being left in the literal decay of my pieces. Nothing says sadness like missing half a face and 90% of your living tissue.

“People observe the colors of a day only at its beginnings and ends, but to me it's quite clear that a day merges through a multitude of shades and intonations with each passing moment. A single hour can consist of thousands of different colors. Waxy yellows, cloud-spot blues. Murky darkness. In my line of work, I make it a point to notice them.”
― Markus Zusak, The Book Thief
Art is the ability to create in a world full of destruction. Art has been my backbone through the years, I honestly could not fathom a life without art, without the ability to paint or draw. Art is my perception of the world. In the darkest parts, there is still beauty, and as an artist, it is my job to capture that. My art is a pursuit of something more. And as a young artist, I know I have a while to go, but I will capture every step of my journey in my work. I work often with mixed media, and the medias I mostly commonly work with include colored pencil, watercolor and acrylic paint.
I plan on using my abilities and growing and working on them as a move through life. I plan on pursing an art degree, and pursing becoming a tattoo artist or an illustrator. I wish to share my creative ideas with others, and make the world more beautiful. I've always wanted to make my mark on the world, and with art, I can literally make a mark on the world, and I want to leave it more beautiful than I found it.
I find much of my inspiration from music, especially in my bodies of work, and I've included one of many songs that helps encapsulate my concentration of being abandoned.
